First Reading:  GN 19:15-29

读经一（上主使硫磺和火，降于索多玛和哈摩辣。）

恭读创世纪 19:15-29

 

As dawn was breaking, the angels urged Lot on, saying, "On your way! Take with you your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away in the punishment of Sodom."

天一亮，两位使者催促罗特说：“起来，快领你的妻子和你这里的两个女儿逃走，免得你因这城的罪恶同遭灭亡。”

 

When he hesitated, the men, by the LORD's mercy, seized his hand and the hands of his wife and his two daughters and led them to safety outside the city.

罗特仍迟延不走；但因为上主怜恤他，那两个人就拉着他的手，他妻子和他两个女儿的手领出城外。

 

As soon as they had been brought outside, he was told: "Flee for your life! Don't look back or stop anywhere on the Plain. Get off to the hills at once, or you will be swept away."

二人领他们到城外，其中一个说：“快快逃命，不要往后看，也不要在平原任何地方停留；该逃往山中，免得同遭灭亡。”

 

"Oh, no, my lord!" Lot replied, "You have already thought enough of your servant to do me the great kindness of intervening to save my life. But I cannot flee to the hills to keep the disaster from overtaking me, and so I shall die.

罗特对他们说：“啊！不，我主！你仆人既蒙你垂爱，又蒙你大显仁慈，得以保全性命；但现在我不能逃往山中，怕遇见灾祸死去。

 

Look, this town ahead is near enough to escape to. It's only a small place. Let me flee there–it's a small place, is it not?–that my life may be saved."

看，这座城很近，容我逃往那里，那只是一座小城；请容我逃往那里；那不只是一座小城吗？在那里我可保全性命。”

 

"Well, then," he replied, "I will also grant you the favor you now ask. I will not overthrow the town you speak of. Hurry, escape there! I cannot do anything until you arrive there." That is why the town is called Zoar.

其中一个说：“好吧！连在这事上我也顾全你的脸面，我必不消灭你提及的这座城。你赶快逃往那里，因为你不到那里，我不能行事。”为此那城称为左哈尔。

 

The sun was just rising over the earth as Lot arrived in Zoar; at the same time the LORD rained down sulphurous fire upon Sodom and Gomorrah from the LORD out of heaven.

罗特到了左哈尔时，太阳已升出地面；上主遂使硫磺和火从天上上主那里降于索多玛和哈摩辣，

 

He overthrew those cities and the whole Plain, together with the inhabitants of the cities and the produce of the soil. But Lot's wife looked back, and she was turned into a pillar of salt.

毁灭了这几座城市和整个平原，以及城中所有居民和地上的草木。罗特的妻子因回头观看，立即变为盐柱。

 

Early the next morning Abraham went to the place where he had stood in the LORD's presence.

亚巴郎清晨起来，到了以前他立在上主面前的地方，

 

As he looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah and the whole region of the Plain, he saw dense smoke over the land rising like fumes from a furnace.

向索多玛和哈摩辣，以及整个平原一带眺望，看见那地烟火上腾，有如烧窑一般。

 

Thus it came to pass: when God destroyed the Cities of the Plain, he was mindful of Abraham by sending Lot away from the upheaval by which God overthrew the cities where Lot had been living.

当天主毁灭平原诸城，消灭罗特所住的城市时，想起了亚巴郎，由灭亡中救了罗特。

【答】：主啊！原来你的慈爱常摆在我眼前。

 

Search me, O LORD, and try me; test my soul and my heart. For your mercy is before my eyes, and I walk in your truth.

领：上主，你尽管对我试验，对我查考，你尽管对我的五内和心脏探讨：原来你的慈爱常摆在我眼前，我常遵照你的真理行走盘桓。

 

R.  O Lord, your mercy is before my eyes.

【答】：主啊！原来你的慈爱常摆在我眼前。

 

Gather not my soul with those of sinners, nor with men of blood my life. On their hands are crimes, and their right hands are full of bribes.

领：求你不要把我的灵魂和罪人们一起收去；求你不要把我的生命与嗜杀者一起铲除。他们的手中尽是罪污，他们的右手满是贿赂。

 

R.  O Lord, your mercy is before my eyes.

【答】：主啊！原来你的慈爱常摆在我眼前。

 

But I walk in integrity; redeem me, and have mercy on me. My foot stands on level ground; in the assemblies I will bless the LORD.

领：我却一向行动无辜，求你救我，求你怜恤。我的脚站立于平坦大路，在集会中我要赞颂上主。

 

R.  O Lord, your mercy is before my eyes.

【答】：主啊！原来你的慈爱常摆在我眼前。

 

Gospel MT 8:23-27

福音（耶稣起来叱责风和海，遂大为平静。）

恭读圣玛窦福音 8:23-27

 

As Jesus got into a boat, his disciples followed him. Suddenly a violent storm came up on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by waves; but he was asleep.

耶稣上了船，他的门徒跟随着他。忽然海里起了大震荡，以致那船为浪所掩盖，耶稣却睡着了。

 

They came and woke him, saying, "Lord, save us!  We are perishing!"

他们遂前来唤醒他说：“主！救命啊！我们要丧亡了！”

 

He said to them, "Why are you terrified, O you of little faith?" Then he got up, rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was great calm.

耶稣对他们说：“小信德的人啊！你们为什么胆怯？”就起来叱责风和海，遂大为平静。

 

The men were amazed and said, "What sort of man is this, whom even the winds and the sea obey?"

那些人惊讶说：“这是怎样的一个人？竟连风和海也听从他！”
