First Reading: Gn 21:5, 8-20a

读经一（这婢女的儿子不能和我的儿子依撒格一同承受家业。）

恭读创世纪 21:5,8-20

 

Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him. Isaac grew, and on the day of the child’s weaning Abraham held a great feast.

亚巴郎的儿子依撒格诞生时，亚巴郎正一百岁；孩子渐渐长大，断了乳；在依撒格断乳的那天，亚巴郎摆了盛宴。

 

Sarah noticed the son whom Hagar the Egyptian had borne to Abraham playing with her son Isaac;

撒辣见那埃及女人哈加尔给亚巴郎生的儿子，戏笑自己的儿子依撒格，

 

so she demanded of Abraham: “Drive out that slave and her son! No son of that slave is going to share the inheritance with my son Isaac!”

就对亚巴郎说：“你该赶走这婢女和她的儿子，因为这婢女的儿子不能和我的儿子依撒格一同承受家业。”

 

Abraham was greatly distressed, especially on account of his son Ishmael.

亚巴郎为了他这儿子的事很是苦恼。

 

But God said to Abraham: “Do not be distressed about the boy or about your slave woman.

但天主对亚巴郎说：“你不必为这孩子和你的婢女苦恼；

 

Heed the demands of Sarah, no matter what she is asking of you; for it is through Isaac that descendants shall bear your name.

凡撒辣对你说的，你都可听从，因为只有藉依撒格，你的名才能传后。

 

As for the son of the slave woman, I will make a great nation of him also, since he too is your offspring.”

至于这婢女的儿子，我也要使他成为一大民族，因为他也是你的孩子。”

 

Early the next morning Abraham got some bread and a skin of water and gave them to Hagar. Then, placing the child on her back, he sent her away.

第二天，亚巴郎清早起来，拿了饼和一皮囊水，交给哈加尔，放在她肩上，又将孩子交给她，打发她走了。

 

As she roamed aimlessly in the wilderness of Beer-sheba, the water in the skin was used up.

她一路前行，在贝尔舍巴旷野迷失了路。那时皮囊里的水已用尽，

 

So she put the child down under a shrub, and then went and sat down opposite him, about a bow shot away; for she said to herself, “Let me not watch to see the child die.”

她把孩子丢在一堆小树下，自己走开，在约离一箭之远的对面坐下，自言自语说：“我不忍见这孩子夭折。”

 

As she sat opposite Ishmael, he began to cry. God heard the boy’s cry, and God’s messenger called to Hagar from heaven: “What is the matter, Hagar?

就坐在对面放声大哭。天主听见孩子啼哭，天主的使者由天上呼唤哈加尔说：“哈加尔！你有什么事？

 

Don’t be afraid; God has heard the boy’s cry in this plight of his. Arise, lift up the boy and hold him by the hand; for I will make of him a great nation.”

不要害怕，因为天主已听见孩子在那里的哭声。起来，去扶起孩子来，用手搀着他，因为我要使他成为一大民族。”

 

Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. She went and filled the skin with water, and then let the boy drink. God was with the boy as he grew up.

天主于是开了她的眼，她看见了一口水井，遂去将皮囊灌满了水，给孩子喝。天主与孩子同在，他渐渐长大，住在旷野，成了个弓手。

When the poor one called out, the LORD heard, and from all his distress he saved him. The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.

领：卑微的人一呼号，上主立即俯允，并且救拔他脱离一切的苦辛。在那敬畏上主的人四周，有上主的天使扎营护守。

 

R.  The Lord hears the cry of the poor.

【答】：卑微的人一呼号，上主立即俯允。

 

Fear the LORD, you his holy ones, for nought is lacking to those who fear him. The great grow poor and hungry; but those who seek the LORD want for no good thing.

领：上主的圣民，你们该敬畏上主，因敬畏他的人，不会受到穷苦。富贵的人竟成了赤贫，忍饥受饿；寻求上主的人，却不缺任何福乐。

 

R.  The Lord hears the cry of the poor.

【答】：卑微的人一呼号，上主立即俯允。

 

Come, children, hear me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. Which of you desires life, and takes delight in prosperous days?

领：孩子们，你们前来听我指教，我要教你们敬畏上主之道。谁是爱好长久生活的人？谁是渴望长寿享福的人？

Gospel : MT 8:28-34

福音（时期还没有到，你就来这里苦害魔鬼吗？）

恭读圣玛窦福音 8:28-34

 

When Jesus came to the territory of the Gadarenes, two demoniacs who were coming from the tombs met him. They were so savage that no one could travel by that road.

那时候，耶稣来到对岸加达辣人的地方，有两个附魔的人从坟墓里走出，向他走来；他们异常凶猛，以致没有人能从那条路上经过。

 

They cried out, "What have you to do with us, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the appointed time?" Some distance away a herd of many swine was feeding.

他们喊说：“天主子，我们与你有什么相干？时期还没有到，你就来这里苦害我们吗？”离他们很远，有一大群猪正在牧放。

 

The demons pleaded with him, "If you drive us out, send us into the herd of swine." And he said to them, "Go then!"

魔鬼恳求耶稣说：“你若驱逐我们，就赶我们进入猪群吧！”耶稣对他们说：“去吧！”

 

They came out and entered the swine, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea where they drowned.

魔鬼就出来进入猪内；忽然全群猪从山崖上直冲入海，死在水里。

 

The swineherds ran away, and when they came to the town they reported everything, including what had happened to the demoniacs.

放猪的便逃走，来到城里，把这一切和附魔人的事都报告了。

 

Thereupon the whole town came out to meet Jesus, and when they saw him they begged him to leave their district.

全城的人就出来会见耶稣，一见了他，就求他离开他们的地方。
