Paul addressed the people in these words: "I am a Jew, born in Tarsus in Cilicia, but brought up in this city.

那时，保禄向群众说：“我原是犹太人，生于基里基雅的塔尔索，却在这城里长大，

 

At the feet of Gamaliel I was educated strictly in our ancestral law and was zealous for God, just as all of you are today.

在加玛里耳足前，对祖传的法律，曾受过精确的教育；对天主我也是热忱的，就如你们大家今天一样。

 

I persecuted this Way to death, binding both men and women and delivering them to prison. Even the high priest and the whole council of elders can testify on my behalf.

我曾迫害过这道，直到死地；不论男女，逮捕捆绑送入狱中；就是大司祭和整个长老团，都可给我作证；

 

For from them I even received letters to the brothers and set out for Damascus to bring back to Jerusalem in chains for punishment those there as well.

我从他们那里领了给弟兄们的文书往大马士革去，有意把那里的这样的人加以逮捕，带到耶路撒冷来处罚。

 

On that journey as I drew near to Damascus, about noon a great light from the sky suddenly shone around me.

当我前行临近大马士革时，约在中午，忽然天上有一道大光，环射到我身上，

 

I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?'

我便跌在地上，听见有声音向我说：扫禄！扫禄！你为什么迫害我？

 

I replied, 'Who are you, sir?' And he said to me, 'I am Jesus the Nazorean whom you are persecuting.'

我回答说：主，你是谁？他向我说：我就是你所迫害的那个纳匝肋人耶稣。

 

My companions saw the light but did not hear the voice of the one who spoke to me. I asked, 'What shall I do, sir?'

同我在一起的人，只看见那光，却听不见那对我说话的声音。我说：主！我当作什么？

 

The Lord answered me, 'Get up and go into Damascus, and there you will be told about everything appointed for you to do.'

主向我说：你起来，往大马士革去，在那里有人要告诉你，给你派定当作的一切事。

 

Since I could see nothing because of the brightness of that light, I was led by hand by my companions and entered Damascus.

由于那光的炫耀，我看不见了，就由我的同伴用手领着，进了大马士革。

 

"A certain Ananias, a devout observer of the law, and highly spoken of by all the Jews who lived there, came to me and stood there and said, 'Saul, my brother, regain your sight.'

有个人名叫阿纳尼雅，是虔诚守法的人，所有住在那里的犹太人都称誉他。他来见我，站在旁边向我说：扫禄兄弟，你看见吧！

 

And at that very moment I regained my sight and saw him. Then he said, 'The God of our ancestors designated you to know his will, to see the Righteous One, and to hear the sound of his voice; for you will be his witness before all to what you have seen and heard.

我当时向他一望，就看见了他。他说：我们祖先的天主，预拣了你，叫你认识他的意愿，看见那位义者，并由他口中听到声音，因为你要向众人，对你所见所闻的事，为他作证人。

 

Now, why delay? Get up and have yourself baptized and your sins washed away, calling upon his name.'"

现在你还迟延什么？起来领洗，呼求他的名，洗除你的罪恶吧！”

Jesus appeared to the Eleven and said to them: "Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature.

那时候，耶稣显现给宗徒，对他们说：“你们往普天下去，向一切受造物宣传福音，

 

Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.

信而受洗的必要得救；但不信的必被判罪。

 

These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will drive out demons, they will speak new languages.

信的人必有这些奇蹟随着他们：因我的名驱逐魔鬼，说新语言，

 

They will pick up serpents with their hands, and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not harm them. They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

手拿毒蛇，甚或喝了什么致死的毒物，也决不受害；按手在病人身上，可使人痊愈。”
