Wishing to determine the truth about why Paul was being accused by the Jews, the commander freed him and ordered the chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin to convene.

那时，千夫长愿意知道保禄为什么被犹太人控告的实情，就解开他，并命令司祭长及全体公议会集合；

 

Then he brought Paul down and made him stand before them.

随后将保禄带下来，叫他站在他们面前。

 

Paul was aware that some were Sadducees and some Pharisees, so he called out before the Sanhedrin, "My brothers, I am a Pharisee, the son of Pharisees; I am on trial for hope in the resurrection of the dead."

保禄一看出他们一部分是撒杜塞人，另一部分是法利塞人，就在公议会中喊说：“诸位仁人弟兄！我是法利塞人，是法利塞人的儿子，我是为了希望死者的复活，现在受审。”

 

When he said this, a dispute broke out between the Pharisees and Sadducees, and the group became divided.

他说了这话，法利塞人和撒杜塞人便起了争辩，会众就分裂了。

 

For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection or angels or spirits, while the Pharisees acknowledge all three.

原来撒杜塞人说没有复活，也没有天使，也没有神灵；法利塞人却样样都承认。

 

A great uproar occurred, and some scribes belonging to the Pharisee party stood up and sharply argued, "We find nothing wrong with this man. Suppose a spirit or an angel has spoken to him?"

于是喧嚷大起，有几个法利塞党的经师起来力争说：“我们在这人身上找不出一点过错来；或者有神灵或天使同他说了话！”

 

The dispute was so serious that the commander, afraid that Paul would be torn to pieces by them, ordered his troops to go down and rescue Paul from their midst and take him into the compound.

争辩越来越大，千夫长怕保禄被他们撕裂，便命军队下来，把保禄从他们中间抢出来，带到营里去了。

 

The following night the Lord stood by him and said, "Take courage. For just as you have borne witness to my cause in Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness in Rome."

次夜，主显现给保禄说：“你放心吧！你怎样在耶路撒冷为我作证，也该怎样在罗马为我作证。”

Keep me, O God, for in you I take refuge; I say to the LORD, "My Lord are you." O LORD, my allotted portion and my cup, you it is who hold fast my lot.

领：天主，求你保佑我，因为我只投靠你。我对天主说：“唯有你是我的上主。”上主，你是我的产业，是我的杯爵，我要得你的基业，有你为我守着。

 

R. Keep me safe, O God; you are my hope.

【答】：天主，求你保佑我，因为我只投靠你。

 

I bless the LORD who counsels me; even in the night my heart exhorts me. I set the LORD ever before me; with him at my right hand I shall not be disturbed.

领：我要赞颂引导我的上主，我心连夜间也向我督促。我常将上主置于我的眼前，我决不动摇，因他在我右边。

 

R. Keep me safe, O God; you are my hope.

【答】：天主，求你保佑我，因为我只投靠你。

 

Therefore my heart is glad and my soul rejoices, my body, too, abides in confidence; Because you will not abandon my soul to the nether world, nor will you suffer your faithful one to undergo corruption.

领：因此，我心高兴，我灵欢喜，连我的肉躯也无忧安眠，因为你绝不会将我遗弃在阴府，你也绝不让你的圣者见到腐朽。

 

R. Keep me safe, O God; you are my hope.

【答】：天主，求你保佑我，因为我只投靠你。

 

You will show me the path to life, fullness of joys in your presence, the delights at your right hand forever.

领：请你将生命的道路指示给我，唯有在你面前才有圆满的喜悦，永远在你右边也是我的福乐。

 

R. Keep me safe, O God; you are my hope.

【答】：天主，求你保佑我，因为我只投靠你。

 

Gospel JN 17:20-26

福音（愿众人都合而为一！）

恭读圣若望福音 17:20-26

 

Lifting up his eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed saying: "I pray not only for these, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, so that they may all be one,

那时候，耶稣举目向天祈祷说：“我不但为他们祈求，而且也为那些因他们的话而信从我的人祈求。愿众人都合而为一。

 

as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me.

父啊！愿他们在我们内合而为一，就如你在我内，我在你内，为叫世界相信是你派遣了我。

 

And I have given them the glory you gave me, so that they may be one, as we are one,

我将你赐给我的光荣赐给了他们，为叫他们合而为一，就如我们原为一体一样。

 

I in them and you in me, that they may be brought to perfection as one, that the world may know that you sent me, and that you loved them even as you loved me.

我在他们内，你在我内，使他们完全合而为一，为叫世界知道是你派遣了我，并且你爱了他们，如爱了我一样。

 

Father, they are your gift to me. I wish that where I am they also may be with me, that they may see my glory that you gave me, because you loved me before the foundation of the world.

父啊！你所赐给我的人，我愿我在那里，他们也同我在一起，使他们享见你所赐给我的光荣，因为你在创世之前，就爱了我。

 

Righteous Father, the world also does not know you, but I know you, and they know that you sent me.

公义的父啊！世界没有认识你，我却认识了你，这些人也知道是你派遣了我。

 

I made known to them your name and I will make it known, that the love with which you loved me may be in them and I in them."

我已经将你的名宣示给他们了，我还要宣示，好使你爱我的爱在他们内，我也在他们内。”
