恭读圣保禄宗徒致格林多人后书 1:18-22

 

Brothers and sisters: As God is faithful, our word to you is not “yes” and “no.”

弟兄们：天主是忠实的！我们对你们所说的话，并不是“是”而又“非”的，

 

For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was proclaimed to you by us, Silvanus and Timothy and me, was not "yes" and "no," but "yes" has been in him.

因为藉我们，即藉我和息耳瓦诺同弟茂德，在你们中所宣讲的天主子耶稣基督，并不是“是”而又“非”的；在他只有一个“是”，

 

For however many are the promises of God, their Yes is in him; therefore, the Amen from us also goes through him to God for glory.

因为天主的一切恩许，在他内都成了“是”，为此也藉着他，我们才答应“亚孟”，使光荣藉我们归于天主。

 

But the one who gives us security with you in Christ and who anointed us is God; he has also put his seal upon us and given the Spirit in our hearts as a first installment.

那坚固我们同你们在基督内的，并给我们傅油的，就是天主；他在我们身上盖了印，并在我们心里赐下圣神作为抵押。

I gasp with open mouth in my yearning for our commands.

领：我张开口嗟叹唏嘘，因为我极渴慕你的诫律。

Turn to me in pity as you turn to those who love your name.

领：求你转身回顾我，垂怜我，正如你当对待爱你的人一样。

Steady my footsteps according to your promise, and let no iniquity rule over me.

领：求你引导我的脚步履行你的训诰，不要允许任何邪恶来主宰我。

Let your countenance shine upon your servant, and teach me your statutes.

领：求你给你的仆人显示你的慈颜，同时也求你给我教导你的规范。

Gospel Mt 5:13-16

福音（你们是世界的光。）

恭读圣玛窦福音 5:13-16

 

Jesus said to his disciples: "You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned?

那时候，耶稣向他的门徒说：“你们是地上的盐，盐若失了味，可用甚么使它再咸呢？

 

It is no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.

它再毫无用途，只好抛在外边，任人践踏罢了。

 

You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden.

你们是世界的光；建在山上的城是不能隐藏的。

 

Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house.

人点灯，并不是放在斗底下，而是放在灯台上，照耀屋中所有的人。

 

Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father."

照样，你们的光也当在人前照耀，好使他们看见你们的善行，光荣你们在天之父。”
