First Reading: GN 41:55-57; 42:5-7A, 17-24A

读经一（我们实在该赔补加害我们兄弟的罪。）

恭读创世纪 41:55-57;42:5-7,17-24

 

When hunger came to be felt throughout the land of Egypt and the people cried to Pharaoh for bread, Pharaoh directed all the Egyptians to go to Joseph and do whatever he told them.

埃及全国闹饥荒时，人民向法郎呼求粮食；法郎对埃及民众说：“你们到若瑟那里去，照他对你们所说的做。”

 

When the famine had spread throughout the land, Joseph opened all the cities that had grain and rationed it to the Egyptians, since the famine had gripped the land of Egypt.

当时饥荒弥漫天下，若瑟便开了国内所有的粮仓，将粮食卖给埃及人，因为埃及的饥荒很严重。

 

In fact, all the world came to Joseph to obtain rations of grain, for famine had gripped the whole world.

天下的人都来到埃及，向若瑟购买食粮，因为天下各地都大闹饥荒。

 

The sons of Israel were among those who came to procure rations. It was Joseph, as governor of the country, who dispensed the rations to all the people.

这样以色列的儿子们也夹在前去埃及购粮的人中，前来购粮，因为客纳罕地也发生了饥荒。当时在地方上执政的是若瑟，给地方上所有人民配售粮食的也是他。

 

When Joseph's brothers came and knelt down before him with their faces to the ground, he recognized them as soon as he saw them.

若瑟的哥哥们来了，就俯首至地，向他下拜。若瑟一见他的哥哥们，就认出他们来，

 

But Joseph concealed his own identity from them and spoke sternly to them. With that, he locked them up in the guardhouse for three days.

（却装做生人，向他们说了一些严厉的话）于是在拘留所内拘禁了他们三天。

 

On the third day Joseph said to his brothers: "Do this, and you shall live; for I am a God-fearing man.

第三天，若瑟对他们说：“我原是个敬畏天主的人，你们愿意保全性命，应这样做：

 

If you have been honest, only one of your brothers need be confined in this prison, while the rest of you may go and take home provisions for your starving families.

如果你们是诚实人，叫你们兄弟中一个人留在拘留所内，其余的人可带粮食回去，解救家中的饥荒。

 

But you must come back to me with your youngest brother. Your words will thus be verified, and you will not die." To this they agreed.

然后给我带你们的小弟弟来，好证实你们的话，你们也不致于死。”他们就这样作了。

 

To one another, however, they said: "Alas, we are being punished because of our brother.

他们彼此说：“我们实在该赔补加害我们兄弟的罪，

 

We saw the anguish of his heart when he pleaded with us, yet we paid no heed; that is why this anguish has now come upon us."

因为他向我们哀求时，我们见了他心灵痛苦，竟不肯听；为此这场苦难才落到我们身上！”

 

Reuben broke in, "Did I not tell you not to do wrong to the boy? But you would not listen! Now comes the reckoning for his blood."

勒乌本就对他们说：“我岂不是对你们说过：不要伤害孩子吗？你们却不肯听；看，现在要追讨他的血了。”

 

The brothers did not know, of course, that Joseph understood what they said, since he spoke with them through an interpreter. But turning away from them, he wept.

他们原不知道若瑟都听得懂，因为在他们中有一翻译员。若瑟就由他们前退出去哭了。

【答】：上主，求你向我们广施慈爱，有如我们对你所存的期待。

 

Give thanks to the LORD on the harp; with the ten-stringed lyre chant his praises. Sing to him a new song; pluck the strings skillfully, with shouts of gladness.

领：你们该弹琴，称谢上主，弹奏十弦琴，赞颂上主。你们应向他高唱新歌，在欢呼声中奏琴吟哦。

 

R.  Lord, let your mercy be on us, as we place our trust in you.

【答】：上主，求你向我们广施慈爱，有如我们对你所存的期待。

 

The LORD brings to nought the plans of nations; he foils the designs of peoples. But the plan of the LORD stands forever; the design of his heart, through all generations.

领：上主使异邦的计划失败，使万民的策略废去。上主的计划却永恒不变，他心中的谋略万世常传。

 

R.  Lord, let your mercy be on us, as we place our trust in you.

【答】：上主，求你向我们广施慈爱，有如我们对你所存的期待。

 

But see, the eyes of the LORD are upon those who fear him, upon those who hope for his kindness, To deliver them from death and preserve them in spite of famine.

领：请看，上主的眼睛常关注敬畏他的人，他的双目常眷顾靠他仁慈的人，为使他们的性命，脱免死亡，使他们在饥馑时，生活如常。

 

R.  Lord, let your mercy be on us, as we place our trust in you.

【答】：上主，求你向我们广施慈爱，有如我们对你所存的期待。

 

Gospel MT 10:1-7

福音（你们往以色列家迷失了的羊那里去。）

恭读圣玛窦福音 10:1-7

 

Jesus summoned his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits to drive them out and to cure every disease and every illness.

耶稣将他的十二门徒叫来，授给他们制伏邪魔的权柄，可以驱逐邪魔，医治各种病症，各种疾苦。

 

The names of the Twelve Apostles are these: first, Simon called Peter, and his brother Andrew; James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John;

这是十二宗徒的名字：第一是称为伯多禄的西满，和他的兄弟安德肋、载伯德的儿子雅各伯和他的弟弟若望、

 

Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddeus; Simon the Cananean, and Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus.

斐理伯和巴尔多禄茂、多默和税吏玛窦、阿耳斐的儿子雅各伯和达陡、热诚者西满和负卖耶稣的犹达斯依斯加略。

 

Jesus sent out these Twelve after instructing them thus, "Do not go into pagan territory or enter a Samaritan town.

耶稣派遣这十二人，嘱咐他们说：“外邦人的路，你们不要走；撒玛黎雅人的城，你们不要进；

 

Go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. As you go, make this proclamation: 'The Kingdom of heaven is at hand.'"

你们宁可往以色列家迷失了的羊那里去。你们在路上应宣讲说：天国临近了。”
