First Reading: 1 THES 2:9-13

读经一（我们向你们宣讲天主的福音时，曾黑夜白日工作。）

恭读圣保禄宗徒致得撒洛尼人前书 2:9-13

 

You recall, brothers and sisters, our toil and drudgery. Working night and day in order not to burden any of you, we proclaimed to you the Gospel of God.

弟兄们：你们应回忆我们的勤劳和辛苦：我们向你们宣讲天主的福音时，黑夜白日工作，免得加给你们任何人负担。

 

You are witnesses, and so is God, how devoutly and justly and blamelessly we behaved toward you believers.

你们自己和天主都可作证：我们对你们信友曾是怎样的圣善、正义和无可指摘。

 

As you know, we treated each one of you as a father treats his children, exhorting and encouraging you and insisting that you walk in a manner worthy of the God who calls you into his Kingdom and glory.

你们也同样知道：我们怎样对待了你们中每一个人，就像父亲对待自己的孩子一样：劝勉、鼓励、忠告你们，叫你们的行动相称于那召选你们进入他的国和光荣的天主。

 

And for this reason we too give thanks to God unceasingly, that, in receiving the word of God from hearing us, you received it not as the word of men, but as it truly is, the word of God, which is now at work in you who believe.

为此，我们不断地感谢天主，因为你们由我们接受了所听的天主的言语，并没有拿它当人的言语，而实在当天主的言语领受了，这言语在你们信者身上发生了效力。

Where can I go from your spirit? From your presence where can I flee? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I sink to the nether world, you are present there.

领：上主，我往何处，才能脱离你的神能？我去那里，才能逃避你的面容？我若上升于高天，你已在那里，我若下降于阴府，你也在那里。

 

R. You have searched me and you know me, Lord.

【答】：上主，你鉴察了我，也认清了我。

 

If I take the wings of the dawn, if I settle at the farthest limits of the sea, Even there your hand shall guide me, and your right hand hold me fast.

领：我若飞往日出的东方，我若住在海洋的西方，你的双手仍在那里引导着我，你的右手还在那里扶持着我。

 

R. You have searched me and you know me, Lord.

【答】：上主，你鉴察了我，也认清了我。

 

If I say, "Surely the darkness shall hide me, and night shall be my light"–For you darkness itself is not dark, and night shines as the day.

领：我若说：愿黑暗把我笼罩，光明变成黑暗将我包围；但黑暗对你并不朦胧，黑夜与白昼一样光明。

 

R. You have searched me and you know me, Lord.

【答】：上主，你鉴察了我，也认清了我。

 

Gospel MT 23:27-32

福音（你们是那些残杀先知者的子孙。）

恭读圣玛窦福音 23:27-32

 

Jesus said, "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You are like whitewashed tombs, which appear beautiful on the outside, but inside are full of dead men's bones and every kind of filth.

那时候，耶稣对民众和众门徒讲论说：“祸哉，你们经师和法利塞假善人！因为你们好像用石灰刷白的坟墓：外面看来华丽，里面却满是死者的骨骸和各样的污秽。

 

Even so, on the outside you appear righteous, but inside you are filled with hypocrisy and evildoing.

同样，你们外面叫人看来倒像义人，你们里面却满是虚伪和不法。

 

"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the memorials of the righteous,

“祸哉，你们经师和法利塞假善人！因为你们修建先知的坟，装饰义人的墓，

 

and you say, 'If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have joined them in shedding the prophets' blood.'

且说：假使我们生在我们祖先的时日，我们决不会与他们合谋杀害先知；

 

Thus you bear witness against yourselves that you are the children of those who murdered the prophets; now fill up what your ancestors measured out!"

这样你们自己作证，你们是那些残杀先知者的子孙了。那么，你们就来完成你们祖先的勾当吧！”
