First Reading: 1 THES 4:1-8

读经一（天主的旨意就是要你们成圣。）

恭读圣保禄宗徒致得撒洛尼人前书 4:1-8

 

Brothers and sisters, we earnestly ask and exhort you in the Lord Jesus that, as you received from us how you should conduct yourselves to please God

弟兄们：我们在主耶稣内请求和劝勉你们：你们既由我们学会了应怎样行事，为中悦天主，

 

and as you are conducting yourselves– you do so even more. For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus.

你们就该怎样行事，还要更向前迈进。你们原来知道：我们因主耶稣给了你们什么诫命。

 

This is the will of God, your holiness: that you refrain from immorality, that each of you know how to acquire a wife for himself in holiness and honor, not in lustful passion as do the Gentiles who do not know God;

天主的旨意就是要你们成圣，要你们戒绝邪淫，要你们每一个人明瞭，应以圣洁和敬意持守自己的肉体，不要放纵邪淫之情，像那些不认识天主的外邦人一样；

 

not to take advantage of or exploit a brother or sister in this matter, for the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as we told you before and solemnly affirmed.

在这样的事上，不要侵犯损害自己的弟兄，因为主对这一切是要报复的，就如我们先前已说过、已证明过的，因为天主召叫我们不是为不洁，而是为成圣。

 

For God did not call us to impurity but to holiness. Therefore, whoever disregards this, disregards not a human being but God, who also gives his Holy Spirit to you.

所以凡轻视这诫命的，不是轻视人，而是轻视那将自己的圣神赋于你们身上的天主。

【答】：义人们，请因上主而欢欣。

 

The LORD is king; let the earth rejoice; let the many isles be glad. Justice and judgment are the foundation of his throne.

领：上主为王！愿大地踊跃，无数岛屿，也都要欢乐！云彩和黑暗将他团团包围，正义与公道支持他的座位。

 

R. Rejoice in the Lord, you just!

【答】：义人们，请因上主而欢欣。

 

The mountains melt like wax before the LORD, before the LORD of all the earth. The heavens proclaim his justice, and all peoples see his glory.

领：面对上主，即普世的主宰，群山要像蜡烛一般溶解。苍天宣扬他的公道，万民目睹他的光耀。

 

R. Rejoice in the Lord, you just!

【答】：义人们，请因上主而欢欣。

 

The LORD loves those who hate evil; he guards the lives of his faithful ones; from the hand of the wicked he delivers them.

领：上主喜爱那恼恨罪恶的人，保护虔诚者的生命，从恶人手中拯救他们。

 

R. Rejoice in the Lord, you just!

【答】：义人们，请因上主而欢欣。

 

Light dawns for the just; and gladness, for the upright of heart. Be glad in the LORD, you just, and give thanks to his holy name.

领：光明已升起照耀着义人，赐喜乐给心地正直的人。义人们，请因上主而欢欣，并请你们赞美他的圣名。

Gospel : Mk 6:17-29

福音（我要你立刻把洗者若翰的头，放在盘子里给我。）

恭读圣马尔谷福音 6:17-29

 

Herod was the one who had John the Baptist arrested and bound in prison on account of Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip, whom he had married.

那时候，黑落德为了他兄弟斐理伯的妻子黑落狄雅的原故，因为他娶了她为妻，曾遣人逮捕了若翰，把他押在监里；

 

John had said to Herod, "It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife." Herodias harbored a grudge against him and wanted to kill him but was unable to do so.

因为若翰曾对黑落德说：“你不可占有你兄弟的妻子。”黑落狄雅便怀恨在心，希望杀害他，只是不能，

 

Herod feared John, knowing him to be a righteous and holy man, and kept him in custody. When he heard him speak he was very much perplexed, yet he liked to listen to him.

因为黑落德敬畏若翰，知道他是一个正义圣洁的人，曾保全了他；几时听他讲道，就甚觉困惑，但仍乐意听他。

 

She had an opportunity one day when Herod, on his birthday, gave a banquet for his courtiers, his military officers, and the leading men of Galilee.

好机会的日子到了：当黑落德在自己的生日上，为自己的重要官员、军官和加里肋亚的显要，设了筵席的时候，

 

Herodias' own daughter came in and performed a dance that delighted Herod and his guests.

那个黑落狄雅的女儿便进来跳舞，获得了黑落德和同席者的欢心。

 

The king said to the girl, "Ask of me whatever you wish and I will grant it to you." He even swore many things to her, "I will grant you whatever you ask of me, even to half of my kingdom."

王便对女孩子说：“你要什么，向我求吧！我必赐给你！”又对她发誓说：“无论你求我什么，就是我王国的一半，我也必定给你！”

 

She went out and said to her mother, "What shall I ask for?" She replied, "The head of John the Baptist."

她便出去问她的母亲说：“我该求什么？”她母亲答说：“洗者若翰的头。”

 

The girl hurried back to the king's presence and made her request, "I want you to give me at once on a platter the head of John the Baptist."

她便立刻进去，到王面前要求说：“我要你立刻把洗者若翰的头，放在盘子里给我！”

 

The king was deeply distressed, but because of his oaths and the guests he did not wish to break his word to her.

王遂十分忧郁；但为了誓言和同席的人，不愿对她食言，

 

So he promptly dispatched an executioner with orders to bring back his head. He went off and beheaded him in the prison.

王遂即差遣卫兵，吩咐把若翰的头送来。卫兵便去，在监里斩了若翰的头，

 

He brought in the head on a platter and gave it to the girl. The girl in turn gave it to her mother.

把他的头放在盘子里送来，交给了那女孩子，那女孩子便交给了自己的母亲。

 

When his disciples heard about it, they came and took his body and laid it in a tomb.

若翰的门徒听说了，就来领去了他的尸身，把他安葬在坟墓里。
