First Reading: 1 TM 6:2C-12

读经一（你是天主的人，要追求正义。）

恭读圣保禄宗徒致弟茂德前书 6:2-12

 

Beloved: Teach and urge these things. Whoever teaches something different and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ

亲爱的弟兄：你要拿这些事教训弟兄，使他们相信，并劝勉他们这样做：若有人讲异端道理，不顺从我们的主耶稣基督的健全道理，

 

and the religious teaching is conceited, understanding nothing, and has a morbid disposition for arguments and verbal disputes.

与那合乎虔敬的教训，他必是妄自尊大，一无所知，患有辩论和舌战之癖的人；

 

From these come envy, rivalry, insults, evil suspicions, and mutual friction among people with corrupted minds, who are deprived of the truth, supposing religion to be a means of gain.

由此而生出嫉妒、争吵、谩骂、恶意的猜疑，以及心思败坏和丧失真理者的口角；他们以为虔敬是获利之源。

 

Indeed, religion with contentment is a great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, just as we shall not be able to take anything out of it.

的确，虔敬是一个获利的富源，但应有知足的心，因为我们没有带什么到世界上，同样也不能带走什么，

 

If we have food and clothing, we shall be content with that. Those who want to be rich are falling into temptation and into a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge them into ruin and destruction.

只要我们有吃有穿，就当知足。至于那些想望致富的人，却陷于诱惑，堕入罗网和许多不智及有害的欲望中，这欲望叫人败坏和灭亡，

 

For the love of money is the root of all evils, and some people in their desire for it have strayed from the faith and have pierced themselves with many pains.

因为贪爱钱财乃万恶的根源；有些人曾因贪求钱财而离弃了信德，使自己受了许多刺心的痛苦。

 

But you, man of God, avoid all this. Instead, pursue righteousness, devotion, faith, love, patience, and gentleness. Compete well for the faith.

至于你，天主的人啊！你要躲避这些事；但要追求正义、虔敬、信德、爱德、坚忍和良善，要奋力打这场有关信仰的好仗，

 

Lay hold of eternal life, to which you were called when you made the noble confession in the presence of many witnesses.

要争取永生：你正是为此而蒙召，并为此在许多证人前宣示了你那美好的誓言。

R. Blessed the poor in spirit; the Kingdom of heaven is theirs!

【答】：神贫的人是有福的，因为天国是他们的。

 

Why should I fear in evil days when my wicked ensnarers ring me round? They trust in their wealth; the abundance of their riches is their boast.

领：当陷害我的仇敌围攻我时，在我困厄的时日，我有何畏惧？因为他们只知依恃财产的富足，只会夸耀自己金钱的丰裕。

 

R. Blessed the poor in spirit; the Kingdom of heaven is theirs!

【答】：神贫的人是有福的，因为天国是他们的。

 

Yet in no way can a man redeem himself, or pay his own ransom to God; Too high is the price to redeem one's life; he would never have enough to remain alive always and not see destruction.

领：金钱不能使任何人得救，决不能把人的赎价还给天主，因为人命的赎价非常昂贵，任何金钱也决不足以赎回，不能使人长久生存，不能使人不见死亡。

 

R. Blessed the poor in spirit; the Kingdom of heaven is theirs!

【答】：神贫的人是有福的，因为天国是他们的。

 

Fear not when a man grows rich, when the wealth of his house becomes great, For when he dies, he shall take none of it; his wealth shall not follow him down.

领：不要嫉妒他人变成富翁，不要忌恨他人家产倍增；因为他死时什么也不能带走，他的财产也不能随着他同去。

 

R. Blessed the poor in spirit; the Kingdom of heaven is theirs!

【答】：神贫的人是有福的，因为天国是他们的。

 

Though in his lifetime he counted himself blessed, “They will praise you for doing well for yourself,” He shall join the circle of his forebears who shall never more see light.

领：他在生时虽自我陶醉说：“只要你幸福，人必夸赞你。”他终要回去和他的祖先相逢，永远再不能看到光明。

【答】：神贫的人是有福的，因为天国是他们的。

 

Gospel LK 8:1-3

福音（跟随耶稣的许多妇女，都用自己的财产资助他。）

恭读圣路加福音 8:1-3

 

Jesus journeyed from one town and village to another, preaching and proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom of God.

那时候，耶稣走遍各城各村讲道，宣传天主国的喜讯，

 

Accompanying him were the Twelve and some women who had been cured of evil spirits and infirmities,

同他在一起的有那十二门徒，还有几个曾附过恶魔或患病而得治好的妇女。

 

Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, Joanna, the wife of Herod’s steward Chuza, Susanna, and many others who provided for them out of their resources.

有号称玛达肋纳的玛利亚，从她身上赶出了七个魔鬼；还有约安纳，即黑落德的管家雇撒的妻子，又有苏撒纳；还有别的许多妇女，她们都用自己的财产资助他们。
